This fine stone is incredibly hard, attractive, flat (easy to build), and ready dressed (ready to build) and at competitive rates.  In short, it is unbeatable, and that is why it has been extensively used for hundreds of years (since Roman times) from the north of the Cotswolds, down to the Dorset coast.

Building stone                            £200 per tonne - About 3.5 sq m to a tonne


Hand dressed (each stone is ready to build with) - 6 inches (150mm) on bed (width).  Random heights.   Specific building stone is £250


Walling stone, garden walling      £120 per tonne - About 2 sq m to a tonne


All the stone is flat with good faces.  Bed widths from about 5 inches upto about 18 inches (excellent for binding the wall together as well as coping stones).  The stone is easy to build a stable, tight wall that looks great.


Hand selected landscaping stone £150 per tonne

This pretty stone is known by different names throughout the West Country. It is known as Forest Marble, as well as Cotswold Forest Marble, Henstridge stone and Cotswold stone.


The stone has taken some 140 million years to form one of the hardest, versatile and attractive building stone in the UK. It has been extensively used for the last two millenia providing Britain with its iconic idyllic villages through Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, and upto Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire and the Cotswolds.


It is used principally for building stone, drystone walling, garden walling, paving, roofing tiles, and landscaping stone to create landscapes, boundaries and buildings that will last for hundreds of years if crafted well.
